AWARDS

THE 2010 MASTER IN RESIDENTIAL MARKETING (MIRM) OF THE YEAR

California Consultant Named NAHB’s MIRM of the Year

WASHINGTON, Jan. 28 – The National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) named Bonnie Alfriend, IRM Fellow, MIRM, CMP, the 2010 Master in Residential Marketing (MIRM) of the Year. The award was presented to Alfriend, president of consulting firm Alfriend Sales and Marketing Solutions in Pebble Beach, Calif., at the Designation Achievement Reception held during the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 11.

Alfriend is a member of the Building Industry Association of the Bay Area in San Ramon, Calif.

“Bonnie has been a true guiding light for new MIRMs in navigating their education,” said Ross Robbins, 2010 IRM Chair. “She is always promoting the designation to new members, her local association and the building industry. Her leadership and dedication have opened doors for both new and established MIRMs to get the most out of their designations.”

Alfriend has worked in the home building industry for more than 40 years. She is a past Chair of the Institute of Residential Marketing, is a certified instructor for all IRM designations (co-authoring many of the courses) and is one of the prestigious IRM Fellows. She is a member of the NSMC Board of Trustees and a facilitator for the MIRM-AidTM program, which helps MIRM candidates complete their required case studies.

"I have been a supporter and pursuer of educational opportunities in the building industry over several decades both in good times and challenging times,” said Alfriend. “The one thing that doesn't change is how critical designations are in succeeding in this business. I firmly believe that knowledge is the key that separates winners from losers. I am passionate about helping MIRM candidates pursue their dream of becoming a Master in Residential Marketing. With each designee, our entire industry improves."

Each year, the IRM Board of Governors selects one of its MIRMs who has gone above and beyond to exemplify the designation. The board considered candidates based on their mentoring activities with those considering or new to the designation, as well as their promotion of the designation within the industry and to consumers.
